Welcome to Cylch Meithrin Rhiwbeina. We are a Welsh medium nursery, based in Rhiwbina and serving the north of Cardiff, accepting children aged 2-4 years old. Established in 1959, we have built a strong reputation for providing high quality care and education to our pupils, our popularity continues to this day, with a long waiting list each year. Whilst we are a Welsh medium setting we warmly welcome children that are fluent Welsh speakers to those having their first introductions to the language. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with the children and parents/carers and have a fully supportive committee who work alongside the staff to deliver the best possible experiences and education for our pupils. We follow the Curriculum for Wales and are registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales and operate under Mudiad Meithrin. We have achieved the Cardiff and Vale Gold Standard Healthy Snack Award and have a Food Hygiene rating of 5. We are a registered Charity and as such welcome fundraising support from parents/carers.
Through following the four purposes of Curriculum for Wales, we offer a range of activities in all areas of learning. We follow a child centred approach, ensuring that each individual is at the heart of their learning journey with us and are key to our planning. The children's well-being is paramount and we undertake many activities in support of this and in building their self confidence, independence and social skills. During our sessions we have a variation of individual, small or large group acivities alongside Story Time, Singing Time, Snack Time, Circle Time, role play and free play. Themes and activities vary each week depending on the calendar celebrations and our focused theme. We are very fortunate to have a large, secure garden which is accessible each day where children can take part in a vast range of activites from riding bikes to going on a bug hunt. We are also ideally located to visit local amenities such as the library, park and cafe.
Hours/Fees:
We operate Monday - Friday. 9.00am-11.30am (term time only).
Our fees per session are currently set at £16 plus 50p for a healthy snack.
Fees are reviewed annually.
These fees are in line with Welsh Government rates and are evaluated annually.
Parents and guardians can apply for funded childcare for up to 17 and a half hours per week (children are eligible from the term after their 3rd birthday) - register here.
Payment can also be made through Tax free childcare.
